School Leader Liz Hinrichsen’s “love” for ORIGO Education resources has her promoting them to the fellow staff at Trinity College North in Evanston South, South Australia.
Liz adopted ORIGO Education’s resources to aid teachers in effectively teaching maths for enhanced and less linear student learning.
“I was looking for a resource which really facilitated teachers who were uncertain about how to teach maths so that students developed a depth of understanding and developed as confident mathematical thinkers,” said Liz, who has now been in teaching for 50 years.
“It enables a clear understanding of maths and hence students have a stronger understanding of maths and are not just relying on ‘taught procedures to get to the correct answer’.”
Liz is particularly fond of ORIGO’s Mathedology, a growing library of maths professional development sessions on contemporary primary school mathematics.
“I really love the Mathedology as it gives teachers a clear understanding of why they are teaching a concept in a certain way,” Liz said.
“A brilliant professional development resource.”
ORIGO Education makes an impactful difference in how Liz teaches maths by providing much-needed flexibility.
“It gives me the resources in an easily accessible manner to enable me to teach maths the way that I believe it should be taught,” she said.
