Participants in this session learn the difference between routine and non-routine problems and establish shared criteria to identify rich problem-solving tasks.

Problematising Everyday Situations
To become proficient problem solvers, students must first learn to “see the maths” in the world that surrounds them. In this session, participants see the mathematics by analysing and then problematising everyday situations. Strategies to solve each problem are discussed with the importance of choice emphasised.
