Supporting the roll out of the Australian Curriculum 9.0 | Mathematics
Led by ORIGO Co-Founders, Dr Calvin Irons and James Burnett
The Australian Mathematics Curriculum 9.0 will significantly change what and how most strands of mathematics are taught in the primary years. Important content, such as percentage, has received more emphasis and will be taught earlier. As a result, the teaching of and expectations for content such as common fractions has been considerably “beefed up”. Furthermore, many year levels will encounter entirely new mathematical ideas such as the creation of algorithms.
Your presenters, founders of ORIGO Education, Dr Calvin Irons and James Burnett have more than 80 years of combined experienced delivering professional learning in primary mathematics in Australia and abroad.

I love ORIGO Education!! We use both Stepping Stones and Step It Up.
Before finding ORIGO Education, we used several curriculum that never gelled. I love that my kids understand concepts so easily with ORIGO Education, I’m finding myself becoming better as well through teaching them. My kids just ‘get it’… well done on a brilliant curriculum!

“Can I just let you know how positively our staff are reflecting on the Webinars! They have really found them beneficial. We have enjoyed the conversational format that reflects the way that James and Calvin present and keep marvelling at the simple and yet such practical ways they explain maths concepts. It has truly been excellent PD! The Australian Curriculum Webinar sessions were easy to listen to, engaging and practical. I really valued the way concepts were explained with real examples and materials. The practical explanations were excellent.”
Kim Hogan, St Kevin’s Primary School, NSW
“A comprehensive, well explained understanding of the changes to new syllabus (draft). Well worth the time investment to understand the resultant need to change pedagogy in the highly effective Maths’ classroom.”

“The Australian Curriculum Webinar Series was engaging, interesting and very informative. James Burnett and Dr Calvin Irons are so knowledgeable and I learnt so much – not just about the upcoming changes to the curriculum but about good practice in mathematics teaching, with valuable examples and useful resources provided. I would recommend this to everyone. It was great to have resources provided and so many examples and ideas shared. I also liked that they kept each session to 40 minutes.”
